Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Social rehabilitation as part of comprehensive rehabilitation. 2. Institutions and practitioners. 3. System of laws and decrees. 4. Areas related to persons with disabilities (PWD). 5. Pensions. 6. Organization of PWD. Status and activities of PWD, international conventions and activities. 7. Prescription of spa care aids. 8. Personal assistance, types of institutions, housing OZP. 9. Partnership and family of handicapped people, education of handicapped children. Seminar Topics: 1. Analysis of social situation of specific clients, evaluation of entitlements for care allowance. 2. Multidisciplinary team. Case managemet. Role of occupational therapists. 3. Introduction to the social situation of adults in residential social care facilities. 4. Familiarization with social programs of some PWD organizations. 5. Continuity of work of ergotherapists and social workers. 6. Personal assistance. 7. Types of residential and outpatient facilities. 8. Housing OZP. 9. Partnership and family of PWD.

Learning outcomes
The course is conceived as theoretical and practical. It introduces students to the current state of social rehabilitation, to various forms of social care in residential facilities for people with physical, mental disabilities and seniors. It provides analyzes of social documentation, social surveys and examples of specific patient / client situations.
Expertise: Graduates of the course can define the issue of social and occupational rehabilitation with respect to current legislation. Professional skills: Students can design short-term and long-term rehabilitation plans in the field of social and occupational rehabilitation. Student can map the possibilities of social and labor integration of the client with respect to the region in which he lives. General knowledge: The student is able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice to a non-medical healthcare worker.
