Course content
Exercise Topics: Weeks 1 to 2: the student's chosen workplace in accordance with the graduate profile The student will carry out examination of spine mobility, examination of cognitive functions, reminiscence therapy, Mirror therapy, concept of basal stimulation (use of Snoezelen), exercise of fine motor skills (Use of therapeutic aids), Sensomotor stimulation (utilization of labile surfaces), one of the targeted ergotherapeutic methods and concepts (PANat method, CIMPT, Jebava ball facilitation, Bobath concept, Sensory integration according to J. Ayres, therapeutic splinting, etc.), performs initial examination, plans ergotherapeutic intervention, final examination and assessment, performs continuous management of ergotherapeutic records. Learning outcomes
The subject builds on the skills acquired during Professional Continuous Practice V. It is taught at specialized workplaces of medical institutions, including specialized institutions. It leads students to independent work on a high-quality professional level. The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge of ergotherapy application in the areas of neurology, neurosurgery, prosthetics, psychiatry, knowledge of the principles of therapeutic procedures in fulfilling the complex ergotherapeutic plan.
Expertise: Students will deepen their knowledge and practical skills acquired in professional subjects of the field of study and will learn to respect the specificities of clients, rules and principles of ethics of behavior of the occupational therapist. Professional skills: The student is able to choose a suitable method of entry and exit examination with regard to the patient's diagnosis, to plan ergotherapeutic intervention with regard to the diagnosis and the client's age. Competences: The student is able to carry out examination of spine mobility, examination of cognitive functions, reminiscence therapy, Mirror therapy, concept of basal stimulation (use of Snoezelen), exercise of fine motor skills (Use of therapeutic aids), Sensomotor stimulation (use of labile surfaces), one of the targeted ergotherapeutic methods and Concepts (PANat Method, CIMPT, Ball Facilitation by Zdena Jebava, Bobath Concept, Sensory Integration by J. Ayres, Therapeutic Splinting, etc.), propose ergotherapeutic plan and implement it. He is capable of leading ergotherapeutic documentation and administration in occupational therapy.
