Course content
Lecture Topics: 1st consultation: Functional system of orientation, testing, functional system of attention, examination. Neglect syndrome, testing. Memory disorders, memory testing. Practice-disorders, examination. Executive functions, disorders. Brain Injury - Brain Performance Disorder. Seminar Topics: 1st consultation: Selection of suitable tests for specific case reports. Examination of the patient after brain injury, designing methods for concentration and attention exercises. Self-study: Other investigative methods in neurology. Neuroprogram. Methodology of brain training.

Learning outcomes
The subject closely follows the course Ergotherapy in Neurology, Psychiatry and Psychology and Medical Psychology. It presents possibilities of therapy of cognitive disorders in various disabilities. Students will be introduced to testing and therapeutic methods that are applied in disorders of concentration, attention, logical thinking.
Expertise: The student knows and actively uses professional terminology related to the issue. Furthermore, student is familiar with tests that are used for cognitive function examination and can perform individual therapy steps. Professional skills: The student is able to investigate individuals with cognitive impairment, is able to actively use and evaluate tests, can determine individual steps of therapy. Competences: The student is able to practically use different types of tests, which are specified for individual components of cognitive functions. Based on the results of the tests, he is able to compile a plan of ergotherapy with a focus on test results, and is able to make independent and responsible decisions in only partially known contexts based on the framework assignment.
