Lecture Topics: 1st consultation: Systemic skeletal diseases, birth defects. Joint and bone inflammation, tumors, avascular necrosis. Osteoarthritis, joint replacements. Soft knee injury and illness, arthroscopy. Spondylosurgery, poor posture, scoliosis, Scheurmann's disease. Degenerative diseases of the spine, injuries of the spine. Static defects of limbs. 2nd consultation: Upper and lower limb amputation. Upper and lower limb prostheses. Orthotics. Calceotics. Adiuvatics. Seminar Topics: 1st consultation: Upper limb prostheses. Lower limb prostheses. Orthotics, calceotics, adiuvatika. Self-study: Internships in the operating room and the Prosthetic Department in Ústí nad Labem. Osteoporosis.

Learning outcomes
|
Comprehensive overview of diagnostics and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders with emphasis on prevention and in relation to ergotherapy. Complex overview of spondylosurgical problems degenerative and traumatic. An overview of the basics of prosthetic issues and the use of prosthetic aids in connection with the rehabilitation and return of patients to society.
Expertise: The student knows well the individual examination methods of the musculoskeletal system. He can examine and write momentum in individual joints. They can name basic systemic, hereditary and acquired diseases, their diagnosis and treatment, they know the basic distribution of bone tumors. Can describe the development of osteoarthritis, can describe methods of conservative and surgical treatment with emphasis and endoprosthetics. They can characterize individual developmental and degenerative spine diseases and their treatment. Professional skills: Student can describe individual types of spine injuries and steps of urgent resuscitation and is able to demonstrate them in practice. Can enumerate and briefly characterize individual areas of prosthetics and can describe their involvement in rehabilitation and assistance in returning disabled people to life. Competences: Student is able to use theoretical knowledge from teaching in occupational therapy practice and is able to make independent and responsible decisions based on the framework assignment.

Credit: active participation in the study, internship according to the possibility of orthopedic or traumatological outpatient department, operating room, self-study of recommended literature and study support, successful completion of written test - 70%, exam: oral.
