Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived as theoretical-practical, based on the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology of the nervous system. This knowledge is a prerequisite for completing the clinical course. It introduces students to the essence of individual functional neurological systems and types of their disorders. It provides basic knowledge of causes, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of nervous system diseases. The aim of the course is to understand the functioning of the nervous system, including special examinations in neurology, which are a prerequisite for the application of concepts and methods of ergotherapy on a neurophysiological basis.
Expertise: The student is able to describe the basic mechanisms of neurological diseases including special examinations in neurology, which are a condition for the application of concepts and methods of ergotherapy on the neurophysiological basis. He / she is familiar with professional terminology. Professional skills: The student is able to orientate in the issue of special neurology, examine the peripheral and central nervous system from the perspective of an ergotherapist. Competences: The student is able to apply acquired knowledge to ergotherapeutic concepts, methods and procedures that use neurophysiological background in their application and diagnostics.
