Learning outcomes
The subject is structured as theoretical and it follows the basics of anatomy and physiology of nervous system. This knowledge is a precondition for enrolling into a clinical course. It makes students familiar with the fundamentals of individual function of a neurological systems and types of their disorders. It provides basic facts about causes, diagnostics, treatment and prevention of the nervous system disorders. The goal of the subject is to provide understanding of the function of the nervous system including special examination in neurology which is necessary for applying the conceptions and a physiotherapy method on a neurophysiologic basis.
Subject Knowledge: Students can describe basic mechanisms regarding creation of neurological disorders and can apply professional terminology. They can explain the basis of disorders of motor, sensitive, extrapyramidal system, spinal syndromes, and dysfunction of autonomous system, syndrome of intracranial hypertension and meningeal syndrome. Professional Skills: The student is aware of the issues of general neurology and can apply gained knowledge to physiotherapeutic conceptions, methods and procedures which use neurophysiologic basis for their application as well as diagnostics.
Prerequisites
Conditional subject was not determined.
