Course content
Lecture Topics: 1st consultation: General principles and trends of E-health, principles and examples of use of telemedicine, EHR (EPR) - electronic health (patient) record, its standards, IS in health care and in hospitals (functions, examples), Institute of Health Information and Statistics (IHIS) - national health registers, DPS indicators. Seminar Topics: 1st consultation: Advanced MS-Office: PowerPoint (slide transitions, usage of animations), Word (format copies, partitioning of documents and different types of page numbering in sections, headings and content generation, citation and literature review), Excel (automatic to fill sequence , using partition wall anchors, lock symbol copying, Ctrl + H usage for substitutions, multicriterial data sorting, function = sum, selected text and logic functions, bar graph, circular, line, point and graph editing - scaling, axis description changes . Self-study: Study materials are available in Moodle and on the FZS website (Study / Study Materials section). Topics: Revision of basic knowledge of IT and introduction to e-learning - Information and its units, HW and SW, principles of work on the Internet, functions and types of e-learning system, access to e-learning at the faculty (Moodle) resp. at other faculties with similar focus (MEFANET). Working with IHIS database - searching and processing of DPS indicators.

Learning outcomes
The subject fulfills two main goals. The first one is to ensure that students are able to master all the tasks associated with the preparation of their bachelor thesis. The second goal is to acquaint students with the possibilities of using information systems (IS) in health care.
Expertise: The student demonstrates the control of basic concepts associated with the issue of e-health and telemedicine. Professional skills: Students are able to use advanced computer technology in commonly available computer applications. They can retrieve information from publicly available Internet systems. Competences: The student is able to use the acquired knowledge in commonly used office applications.
