Course content
Seminar Topics: 1. Managing and leading occupational therapy documentation. 2. Occupational therapy for people with visual impairment. 3. Occupational therapy for people with hearing impairment. 4. Combined impairments: possibilities of occupational therapy, compensational aids, socialization. 5. Participation in social or sports activities of people with sensory disability. 6. Possibilities of trainings to practice independent behaviour of patients with a combined impairment. 7. Personal assistance for a patient with combined disorder.

Learning outcomes
The subject is structured as theoretically - practical and follows the introductory chapters in occupational therapy and as well as psychology and special education. Students will gain knowledge about occupational therapy application and they will analyse possible activities deliberately chosen taking into consideration physical and mental aspects. The emphasis is put on complexity of treatment and cooperation with the family and school.
Subject Knowledge: Student can define basic issues of selected target groups: people with visual, hearing, combined impairment. Student can describe specifics of some target groups of users. Student knows compensational aids, can describe in a wider context social and medical services for given users. Student knows the principles of dealing with occupational therapy documentation. Professional Skills: Student understands the disability issues of some target groups and is able to define consequences of disability of a specific user and uses this knowledge in the process of occupational therapy. Student is able to work with compensational aids and has information about how to get them or alternatively can inform the user about a contact social worker. Student can make an individual plan of occupational therapy process. He can manage documentation, uses professional documentation and is able to understand it as well as assess it. Student can prepare individual aids for effective occupational therapy process.
