Seminar topics: 1. Introduction to the subject - Principles when examining an individual with a mental disability. 2. Ergotherapeutic procedures for lighter degrees of mental disability - childhood specifics a adolescents. 3. Case reports analysis, therapy proposals. 4. Ergotherapeutic procedures at heavier levels of mental disability - childhood specifics a adolescents. 5. Case reports analysis, therapy proposals. 6. Use of ergotherapy in individuals with dementia. Case analyzes, therapy proposals. 7. Specifics of progressing disabilities. 8. Therapeutic techniques used in individuals with intellectual disabilities. 9. Cooperation of the therapist with the family members of the client. 10. Final summary

Learning outcomes
The subject is structured as practical and follows the lectures of clinical neurology, psychology and psychiatry. It makes students familiar with occupational therapy issues experienced by people with mental disability at different levels and of different etiology. It familiarizes students with different types of work places where occupational therapy is used by individuals with mental disability.
Subject Knowledge: Within the theoretical knowledge the students can use professional terminology related to given issues and they are able to describe basic treatment goals. They can describe methods and means depending on the type of disability and age category and are aware of the importance of having an emphatic attitude towards the clients and their family members. Professional Skills: The students can realise the case study of a client, select suitable occupational therapy procedures and suggest modifications of the environment as well as they are able to communicate with family members and educate them. The student can put theoretical knowledge into practice.
