Course content
Seminar Topics: 1. Occupational therapy: documentation administration 2. Functional tests, ergometric examination. 3. ICHS: the possibilities of occupational therapy application. 4. Arthrosis: the possibilities of occupational therapy application. 5. Morbus Bechterew: occupational therapy means. 6. Rheumatoid arthritis: occupational therapy means. 7. Juvenile arthritis: body symptomatics, psychical consequences, functional therapy. 8. Participation in ergometric examination. 9. Discussion with a clinic psychologist about the problems of patients after myocardial infarction. 10. Adaptation of the workplace according to the diagnosis.

Learning outcomes
This subject is the basic one for the study program. It is designed as practical and follows the introductory chapters of occupational therapy and the lectures on internal medicine and geriatrics. Students gain knowledge of occupational therapy application in this field and about the possibilities of selected activities considering physical and psychical aspects. The emphasis is put on the optimization of functions and reaching independence both within home and work environment. Students will also get familiar with the possibilities of occupational therapy application as prevention against some civilization diseases.
Subject Knowledge: Students can name suitable occupational therapy procedures in the field of internal medicine and rheumatology. Professional Skills: According to the examination of a patient the student can apply suitable occupational therapy methods.
