Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. Principles of management, orientation in the system of providing and reimbursement of health care and in organization of health facilities, quality of provided health care. 2. Administrative activities at occupational therapy. Planning and organizing the ergotherapy department, working with other professionals. 3. Differences in the position of occupational therapists in health and social facilities. 4. Undergraduate and post-graduate education of occupational therapists. 5. Professional organizations. 6. Financial and statistical reports and records. Function of review and assessment physicians. Management principles. Seminar Topics: 1. Discussion with the head of the rehabilitation department. 2. Presentation of health records and suggestions for the overall treatment program, including patient safety. 3. Presentation of medical records and suggestions for the overall treatment program, including patient safety. 4. Proposals for material purchase planning. 5. Discussion of the obligations of health professionals. 6. Keeping confidentiality, responsibility under civil law.

Learning outcomes
The course provides information about the health care system, organization and management of the occupational therapy department, measuring the administrative activities, the quality of provided health services and ensuring patient safety. Students will learn about the prerequisites for creating non-conflicting labor relations.
Expertise: The student is acquainted with the health system and with the specifics of the program of rehabilitation centers and occupational therapists in them. Professional skills: The student is able to apply the acquired knowledge within the occupational therapy. Competences: The student is able to educate clients and patients on possibilities of health care coverage, is able to orientate in medical documentation and correctly record patient information.
