Course content
1. Social Communication: Communication process, space and time, functions of communication, communication systems, language as a system of signs 2. Stratification of Language, Stylistic Layers, Codification, and Codification Manuals 3. Defining Media Forms of Communication (Language and Visual Systems), Communication Tools 4. The Communicative Act and Its Functions, Creativity, Persuasion 5. Diversification of Web and Social Media Spaces and the Use of Related Communication Tools in Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) 6. Specifics of Communication in Culture, Artistic Communication, and Communication Through Art 7.-8. Preparation and Delivery of Spoken Presentations, Practical Demonstrations, Exercises 9.-10. Drafting Written Communications, Vertical and Horizontal Text Structuring, Practical Demonstrations, Exercises 11.-12. Typographic Principles for Written Communication and Its Preparation for Further Processing, Application of Rules in Text Editors, Practical Demonstrations, Exercises

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to develop basic communication competencies for the cultural and creative sector. Students will gain an understanding of the fundamentals of general social communication and linguistic communication, presented in the context of media communication distributed through various media forms and tools (ranging from traditional media channels and tools to dynamic web applications). Throughout the course, students will acquire both theoretical and, most importantly, practical communication skills through working with spoken and written communication examples.
The acquired competencies represent the mastery and application of knowledge in the given field, based on the specific course description and aimed at fulfilling the graduate profile.
