Learning outcomes
The one-semester course introduces students to the current state of the Czech theater scene and experimental (alternative) performative works at the intersection of visual and dramatic arts. It examines the principles of producing one-off performative events and festivals, audience acquisition, and competitiveness. Participants actively engage in discussions covering the basics of funding, grant applications, financial accounting, as well as the principles of staging theatrical performances (including directing, acting, dramaturgy, and scenography), encompassing the overall management of theatrical production projects. Within this framework, students delve into specific examples from theater practice, explore contemporary works by prominent theater ensembles, the dramaturgy of smaller festivals, and site-specific performances, as well as engage in comparative analysis of these elements. By the end of the semester, students will apply the knowledge and experience gained through a field trip and the implementation of their own project-based case study.
The acquired competencies represent the mastery and application of knowledge in the given field, based on the specific course description and aimed at fulfilling the graduate profile.
