1. The historical context of the period's shift to public art galleries and galleries. 19th century. 2. The development of the architecture of exhibition spaces in the 19th century, the way of exhibiting. Selected examples. 3. Development and changes in the Art Nouveau period at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. 4. The situation between the two world wars. A paradigm shift. 5. Functionalism as a general term for changes in architecture. 6. Historical context of changes after World War II. 7. International style. Minimalism. 8. The influence of important private collectors on the architecture of exhibition spaces (eg Guggenheim). 9. Postmodernism and its influence on the transformation of the concept of the exhibition. 10. Architecture of museums and galleries since the 1990s. 11. Gallery or museum conversion projects. 12. Excursion.

Learning outcomes
|
In the teaching of the English language, the emphasis is placed on expanding knowledge of the language with specialization in the given field. The goal is to improve the orientation of students in the professional language, the ability to correctly use the acquired language knowledge in demanding professional situations, be able to respond and expand vocabulary. The teaching is supplemented with information and news from the study area. The student knows basic specialist vocabulary in a foreign language from his field. He is able to communicate in a foreign language about his work and his focus. Can describe and explain his work and approaches. He handles the conversation and written communication in a foreign language. He knows how to negotiate future foreign cooperation and can offer his skills in communication with foreign institutions and individuals. Teaching in the individual weeks of the semester is flexible and is subject to the individual needs of individual students and depends on their current creative activities.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
