Course content
1. The position of copyright in the legal system and the importance of copyright protection, historical development of copyright. 2. Basic concepts of copyright (author, author's work, co-authorship). Copyright content (copyright personality and property). 3. Contractual use of the author's work - license. 4. Non-contractual use of author's work - exceptions to copyright. 5. Special regimes of author's works (employee work, school work, commissioned work). 6. Rights related to copyright, collective management. 7. Copyright enforcement, consequences of interference with copyright. 8. Contracts in curatorial practice. 9. Selected legal aspects of dealing with art objects - property rights, monument protection. 10. Selected legal aspects of promotional activity in curatorial practice ? protection of personality, trademarks and others industrial rights. 11. International protection of copyright and intellectual property rights and its importance.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the field of law, in the context of those branches of law that they will encounter during the practical work of a curator. Emphasis is thus placed primarily on copyright, its basic concepts and principles, and further on the area of contract law in the context of the current agenda of curatorial practice. The aim of the course is to provide students with the necessary legal awareness specific to curatorial practice and a basic orientation in this issue.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
