Learning outcomes
The one-semester course Development of Art after 2000 completes the line of teaching the history of contemporary art. It introduces students to the complex issue of the transformation of contemporary visual culture in the first decades of the 21st century. Based on the comparison of selected authorial approaches, significant exhibition projects and shows of the globalizing art operation and curatorial strategies anchored in the dynamically accelerating theoretical framework of contemporary art, it confronts the nature of visual culture with highly topical social, economic and political challenges. The course also focuses on non-artistic overlaps towards related social science fields, on media feedback of artistic creation and the connection or conditionality of current creative strategies with the online environment.
