1. Non-profit sector in the field of visual arts presentation. 2. Types of organizational structures of non-profit institutions. 3. Grant opportunities for the non-profit sector and their development since 1989. 4. Art market - basic concepts. 5. Private galleries in the Czech Republic and abroad. 6. Meeting with a collector - excursion/lecture. 7. Sale of artworks - auctions, art fairs. 8. Visit to a successful artist's studio. 9. Skutek Society and its activities - debate. 10. Excursion - visit to a selected independent gallery. 11. Colloquium - presentation and analysis of final theses.

The course introduces the methods of functioning of galleries and art institutions in the context of Czech exhibition operations with regard to on world events. In the summer semester, the course focuses not only on the analysis of the non-profit exhibition area, but also on the private gallery sector, on the issues of the art market and collecting. An important part of the course is also familiarization with the possibilities of support and financial provision of such organizations and associations. The course is divided evenly into a theoretical part and seminars of a more practical nature associated with visits and presentations of specific personalities or institutions.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study. |
