1. Introductory lesson (brief summary of concepts, acquaintance with the course of teaching). 2. New media in general (theoretical approaches, history, authors, digital literacy). 3. New media in art (problems of the concept and its development). 4. Moving image I (film, experimental film, history, author's film). 5. Moving Image II (from film essay to video essay, contemporary video essayism). 6. Moving image III (mobile, internet, YouTube, current trends in moving image consumption, etc.). 7. Video art I (from video camera to digital era, history, authors). 8. Video art II (today's position of video art, film in the gallery, authors). 9. Game art I (game studies, history of video games). 10. Game art II (game studies, commercial production of video games versus indie games). 11. Game art III (computer game in the gallery, authors, game activism). 12.-13. Sound art I (history, from the electric period through the magnetic period to the digital age).

Learning outcomes
|
A series of lectures and exercises focusing on new media issues. Students will get acquainted with both theory and important new media works of art, across individual areas (Video art, Sound art, Net art, Postinternet art, Game art, Bio art, etc.). In addition to the historical context and the list of authors, the lectures are also open to areas of new media theory, where the aim will be to present current theoretical works, manifestos, mention essential theorists and artists.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the given field of study, they result from a concrete annotation of the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
