Course content
1. Basic terminology, introduction to the issues. 2. Development of arts educational system and exhibition operation in the Czech Republic from mid-20th century to present day. 3. High and low art Commercialization and commodification. 4. Art and design market, employability of a graduate. 5. Excursions. 6. Art and design as research, development, and innovation. 7. Cooperation in art and design. Environmental, activist and engaged projects. Advertising strategies. 8. Educative turnover in current exhibition operation. 9. Creative industries. 10. Artist as a curator or a gallerist. Design of an exhibition. 11. Excursions. 12. Colloquium.

Learning outcomes
The series of lectures is designed to acquaint students with tendencies and form of contemporary artistic practice. Students will acquire a basic insight into the matter by analyzing specific examples from the sphere of visual art, gallery operation, curatorship, art market and so on. The seminar is complemented by two excursions to special institutions that are currently led by graduates of FAD JEPU.
The gained capabilities constitute an encompassment and an aquirement of knowledge and experience in the given field of study, they result from a concrete annotation of the subject and are aimed at a profile´s fulfilment of the graduate of the given field of study.
