Learning outcomes
In each semester, the course is focused on solving and managing tasks in vertical functional textiles (drapes, curtains, spatial textiles, screens, etc.), and horizontal textiles (tablecloths, place settings, bed linen, counterpanes, rugs, etc.). At the same time, the students design and create clothing, using various techniques (print, painting, embroidery, knitwork, etc.). Parallelly with these tasks, the students as well create free, spatial objects intent on a theme or content, including clothes (accessories). In their realizations, they combine not only textile, but also other natural or synthetic materials, metal and plastic. The purpose of students' work is to learn about various properties and characters of materials, to understand their essence, and to be able to create mutual artistic relations between them. In case of clothing, it is necessary to understand and respect them in connection with the human body as a unique three-dimensional object, with respect to the utilitarian function.
The student knows issues associated with designing products and can select an appropriate procedure to achieve a good result. When presenting results of their work, they can propose a presentation of the product (project), exhibit it and defend it before a professional jury. The student is able to explain individual steps of their work, to describe the solution and manufacture and to defend it before experts. They can create a visual presentation of the product (project).
