In each semester, the course is focused on solving and managing tasks in vertical functional textiles (drapes, curtains, spatial textiles, screens, etc.), and horizontal textiles (tablecloths, place settings, bed linen, counterpanes, rugs, etc.). At the same time, the students design and create clothing, using various techniques (print, painting, embroidery, knitwork, etc.). Parallelly with these tasks, the students as well create free, spatial objects intent on a theme or content, including clothes (accessories). In their realizations, they combine not only textile, but also other natural or synthetic materials, metal and plastic. The purpose of students' work is to learn about various properties and characters of materials, to understand their essence, and to be able to create mutual artistic relations between them. In case of clothing, it is necessary to understand and respect them in connection with the human body as a unique three-dimensional object, with respect to the utilitarian function.
After they have completed the second semester of Product Design Master's programme of study, the student masters the challenging modelling in 3D software, and is able to expand their capabilities of creating visualizations by means of visualization programs enabling a better presentation of projects. When processing projects, the student can choose the suitable procedure to create the given assignment, and then to defend the procedure. The student is able to improve their knowledge of material and technological options when manufacturing products on their own.
