Learning outcomes
In each semester, the course is focused on solving and managing tasks in vertical functional textiles (drapes, curtains, spatial textiles, screens, etc.), and horizontal textiles (tablecloths, place settings, bed linen, counterpanes, rugs, etc.). At the same time, the students design and create clothing, using various techniques (print, painting, embroidery, knitwork, etc.). Parallelly with these tasks, the students as well create free, spatial objects intent on a theme or content, including clothes (accessories). In their realizations, they combine not only textile, but also other natural or synthetic materials, metal and plastic. The purpose of students' work is to learn about various properties and characters of materials, to understand their essence, and to be able to create mutual artistic relations between them. In case of clothing, it is necessary to understand and respect them in connection with the human body as a unique three-dimensional object, with respect to the utilitarian function.
The student has mastered independent work on a project. They can express their own opinion and are able to defend it not only before peers, but also before tutors and experts from branch. When designing a product, the student can take into account their experience with 3D software. The student is able to exhibit the product (project) in an appropriate way they can create installation for it or design a spatial layout. The student is able to enhance the installation with a graphic presentation poster. They are able to defend their output and individual steps leading to the realization.
