Learning outcomes
In each semester, the course is focused on solving and managing tasks in vertical functional textiles (drapes, curtains, spatial textiles, screens, etc.), and horizontal textiles (tablecloths, place settings, bed linen, counterpanes, rugs, etc.). At the same time, the students design and create clothing, using various techniques (print, painting, embroidery, knitwork, etc.). Parallelly with these tasks, the students as well create free, spatial objects intent on a theme or content, including clothes (accessories). In their realizations, they combine not only textile, but also other natural or synthetic materials, metal and plastic. The purpose of students' work is to learn about various properties and characters of materials, to understand their essence, and to be able to create mutual artistic relations between them. In case of clothing, it is necessary to understand and respect them in connection with the human body as a unique three-dimensional object, with respect to the utilitarian function.
After they have completed the first semester of Master's programme of study, the student can consult and defend their production before peers and experts in the discipline and thanks to that, they are aware of their own level and make their approach to work comprehensive. The student can communicate and cooperate as part of team projects. They have basic skills for modelling in 3D software and can utilize them in their creative work. When solving problems, the student can propose their own conception of a product (project) and produce it, and is able to present it and defend it.
