The studio programme is focused on perfect industrial design in applied and decorative ceramics and porcelain. The studio brings up personalities educated both in arts and the theory - designers, who can design a comprehensive product as to the shape, the structure, the colour, and the material arising from the purpose function of the product and aiming to general esthetic shaping of lifestyle. The course emphasizes developing surface and spatial perception, and mastering techniques of drawing, painting, and modelling. Students solve individual study tasks focused on industrial production, they deepen their technological and craft knowledge and skills, and make clear about outer and inner relations of the subject.
The student understands the theme of the assigned task and is able to develop a time schedule to implement it. They are able to work independently and initiatively. The student can suggest different options and ways of realization. They are able to create a catching presentation and to defend their opinions and insights in a discussion in the sphere of design, craft, and technology and also of social issues. The student can make connections between the current tendencies and the historical context of their work. They consider postproduction an integral part of their work and can comprehend it in its context.
