Learning outcomes
The studio programme is focused on perfect industrial design in applied and decorative ceramics and porcelain. The studio brings up personalities educated both in arts and the theory - designers, who can design a comprehensive product as to the shape, the structure, the colour, and the material arising from the purpose function of the product and aiming to general esthetic shaping of lifestyle. The course emphasizes developing surface and spatial perception, and mastering techniques of drawing, painting, and modelling. Students solve individual study tasks focused on industrial production, they deepen their technological and craft knowledge and skills, and make clear about outer and inner relations of the subject.
The student clearly understands the sphere of the assigned topic. Base on their own research, they are able to see the assignment both from the point of view of the current tendencies and within the historical and social context. The student is aware of technological possibilities and limits and can modify their creative work accordingly. They are able to experiment in their creative work and to defend their approach to the theme, including the technical and ideological procedures chosen. The student can write a defence of their work in the form of a brief theoretical text, and to present their work also verbally before the final work committee, and to react to questions and objections.
