The aim of the course is to demonstrate the possibilities of laboratory isolation of substances using methods of preparative liquid chromatography with different stationary phases, on the dry column, on the gel column, in overpressure or negative pressure of the mobile phase or on a thin layer (TLC). A systematic approach to tuning the composition of a suitable isocratic mobile phase and fast, efficient methods for the detection of colorless analytes (e.g. TLC, MS, NMR, GC, HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis, refractometry etc.) will be mentioned or demonstrated. The course will extend the knowledge gained in the courses Laboratory Exercises in Inorganic Chemistry and Laboratory Exercises in Organic Chemistry, or Techniques of Syntheses of Chemical Compounds and will prepare students for the course Bachelor Thesis in the Field of Syntheses of Chemical Substances.
