The subject targets these themes: 1. Foreign and national sources of Prague Linguistic Circle, principles and standards of PLC 2. the development of opinions and history of a PLC from 20s to 90s of 20th Century 3. Czech and world structuralism - mutual relations 4. structuralism and post structuralism 5. opinion development of standard language, its norm and codification 6. standard language 7. language and speech culture, its definition and opinions of it 8. purism and antipurism 9. discussions about standard and general Czech from 60s of 20th century to the present 10. reflection of public media in the development of language culture 11. rhetoric and language culture
