Course content
1.Current Czech language and culture of language. 2. Standards and codification. Codification handbooks. 3. Language culture and legitimacy of language. 4. Politeness of public speech. 5. Method of speech. 6.Professional discussion about problematics of language culture. 7. Culture of speech x culture of language. 8. Modulation of dynamics, tonal, tempoval, modulation of timbre. 9. Sort of public speech (in according to situation, purpose of author). 10. Conditions of successful presentation: lecture onto selected topic. 11. Presentation of public speech: lecture onto selected topic. 12. Analysis of selected speech (New year´s President´s speech, graduation ceremony speech) 13. Presentation of public speech: ceremonial, funereal.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the discipline is to improve written and oral speech of students, teach them proper techniques of speech, lead them to a distinctive usage of prosodic features in different genre speeches.
Students are able to assess professionally the quality of different genres of speeches, handle the preparation and presentation of a coherent public speech in front of audience, know the basic techniques of speech and know how to use them in their own practice when assessing speeches of other speakers.
Prerequisites
knowledge of the field on the level of GCSE exam knowledge of disciplines connected to the central domain of study knowledge of appropriate terminology
