Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the seminar is to acquaint students with the basic interpretive strategies of artistic text and practicing various interpretive competence, always in relation to specific literary kinds and genres. Students will learn the basic terms of versology and narratology, intermedia overlaps and functioning of literary texts in a broader cultural context (esp. contemporary perspective of research in this area will be accented, eg. P. Bordieu's concept of literary field) will be also observed. The seminar will be methodologically based on knowledge of structuralism, hermeneutics, phenomenology, theory of film adaptation, fictional worlds theory and cultural studies.
Student will learn basic interpretive competencies and is able to apply these competencies in the analysis of specific literary works, learns the basic concepts of literary criticism and learn how to work with these concepts, he is able to critically evaluate the benefits and limits of single literary-critical methods for interpreting texts and learn to think about literature in a broader cultural context.
