Learning outcomes
The seminar introduces the issues of czech phraseology on the background of general phraseology including cultural context. In the practically orientated seminar, the students build and widen phraseological competency and so called phraseo-semantic competency (understood in the narrower sense, therefore as a higher grade of phraseological competency, which reflects a deeper level of knowledge including adequate semantic interpretation of phraseological unit), on the basis of the main czech and world phraseological works. The emphasis is placed on the choice of proper phraseme according to usage in oral and written expression, on the finding synonymous agents, not just czech but also foreign equivalents. Authentic texts of various character according to students choice (mainly texts journalistic, literary etc.) are used for the language analysis.
Student understands the content of the course and is building his own individual phraseological competence. He is able to understand the phrasemes, classify them, use them to accomplish the communication objectives.
