1. Chmelenský's Word about criticism and Havlíček's Chapter about criticism. 2. Sabina's Task of criticism, Neruda's Modern man and art. 3. J. V. Sládek as a representative of lumír criticism (see Criticism and criticising); H. G. Schauer in the basics of CZECH MODERNISM (Our two questions). 4. F. X. Šalda and Jiří Karásek ze Lvovic (Criticism with Pathos and inspiration; Karel Hlaváček). 5. T. Vodička: Basics of art criticism; Jan Franz: Studies. 6. J. Durych: Oops, a man. 7. The basic method is to work with the text and its interpretation - student should be able to discern between the historically contingent and permanently valid. This should be preparation for the students' own critical experiments, which should include knowledge of tradition and awareness about the current state of our literature (and literary criticism).
