Course content
1. Characteristics of every each kind of public speech (political, ceremonial, funeral, etc.) 2. Preparation of public speech in according to function of this speech. 3. Preparation of public speech - verbal means. 4. Preparation of public speech - non-verbal means. 5. Characteristics of voice and its application in concrete speech. 6. Analysis of non-verbal components of speech in case of function. 7. - 9. Analysis of video samples (graduation ball, graduation day, wedding, funeral oration, President´s New Year´s oration, etc.) 10- 13. Skills training - preparated public speech and its´s realisation in front of audience. 14. Appraisal of student´s work.

Learning outcomes
Purpose of this course is to learn students how to modulate vocal characteristics of speech according to its function and situation of public spoken speech ( wedding, funeral, festive occasions, etc.). Exercises are based on training of rhetorical skills (verbal and non-verbal means with accent on statement meanings).
Student is prepared for rhetorical appearance, with accent on controlling of voice quality and choice of proper vocabulary, which is properly to purpose of speech intended for selected sphere of audience, student is able to recognise deficits of speakers, which have negative impact on failure of rhetorical speech.
Prerequisites
knowledge of the field on the level of GCSE exam knowledge of disciplines connected to the central domain of study knowledge of appropriate terminology
