Marxism, neo-marxism. Ideologization of meanings. 9. Culture and autority. Culture practices. Analysis of discourse. 10. Postmodernism. 11. Construction and organisation of cultural identity. 12. Culture and history. Historical fact and its construction. 13. Culture and media. Medial text.

Learning outcomes
Předmět uvádí studenty do interdisciplinárního oboru; cílem kurzu je, aby si posluchači osvojili základní kompetence v oblasti metodologie určené k analýze a interpretaci literatury a kultury, a to v širokých souvislostech fungování kultury v moderním světě. Seminární výuka je založena na interpretaci textů. Znalosti se ověřují testem.
Students comprehend to content of subject, understand, that culture is as large spectrum of practices; he/she realises differences between popular culture (mass) and high culture, he/she is able to compare connection between cultural studies and literary science; students got knowledge of basic termonological fund of profession; he/she is able to realise methods, which are set for analysis of cultural objects.
Prerequisites
knowledge of the field on the level of GCSE exam knowledge of disciplines connected to the central domain of study knowledge of appropriate terminology
