Course content
1. Basic informations about services of University library http://knihovna.ujep.cz/. ÚJČ AV www.ujc.cas.cz Czech National Corpus (ČNK) http://ucnk.ff.cuni.cz/ . Basic technical literature. Linguistic terminology (dictionaries). 2. Linguistic and its disciplines. General characteristics of Czech language - part one. 3. General characteristics of Czech language - part two (typological). Its´ specific features. 4. Language and speech. Language subsystems (structures) and it interrelations. Language units, system of language and it structure. 5. Written form of language and orthography. Cultivation of written presentation. 6. Spoken form of language and its´ pronunciation. Cultivation of spoken presentation. 7. Czech national language and its´ stratification. Written language and its´ stratification. 8. Czech language and its´ regional and social differences. 9. Nonliterary forms of national language and their relations with standard Czech language. 10. Stylish differentiation of language means. 11. Custom of language. Standards of language. Codification of standard Czech language. 12. Handbooks of codification, specialised on lexicology, orthography and grammar. 13. Culture of language and speech. 14. Learning outcomes
Purpose of this subject is introducing of students into problematics of Bohemistics, it own language levels, for expansion of their skills of linguistic terminology and provide them short overview into basic linguistic disciplines, in which they will study in their next level of education, to better organisation and developing of their present knowledge about Czech language. Seminars are focused on fixing of standard language and developing of communication competentions.
Students are able to look into language as structured and hierarchized system, they prove to use basic linguistic terms with comprehension, think about connections between linguistic characters; to work out non-defective written and spoken communicate; student is even able to properly knows standard of written language and functional stratification of Czech language.
Prerequisites
knowledge of the field on the level of GCSE exam knowledge of disciplines connected to the central domain of study knowledge of appropriate terminology
