The subject deepens interpretation competence of students that prepare themselves to become teachers. Seminar´s based on methods of work with a text. It works with literary text and theoretical text connected with the literary one. The basic aim of a subject is to teach students analytical and interpretation methods, to show from what perspectives theoretical movements and groups approach texts. The point is not to fully introduce every single movement of theory of literature, but to deepen student´s knowledge and skills. Students study the ways of analyses, description and explanation of a literary text; they study what "ideological" thesis, tools and terminology to use. Secondarily they get information about changes and development of thinking about literature. The written examination at the end of the seminar focuses mainly on terminology.
Graduates of this course are oriented in selected mothodological trends of 20th century. They understood the basic terminology which they are able to use for describing, analysing and interpreting literary texts. Students are aware of the problematic behavior of the different approaches and sub categories, they are able to independently think more than the presented "canonical" interpretation. |
