Course content
1. The importance of culture of speech in spoken news-reporting; in the oration of presenter of genre-differenced programmes and in speech of other public speakers 2. Correct pronunciation of phonemes 3. Sound manifestations in fluent speech and their adequate realisation 4. Voice-power, tone and time modulation, voice-tone modulation 5. Correct breathing during speaking; Breathing exercises 6. Voice exercises - flexibility of voice; Articulation exercises 7. Non-verbal (mostly acoustic) sounds and their impotence in communication 8. Principles of distinct presentation 9. Spoken presentation principles 10. Listening of excerpts of speeches: artificial presentation, spoken news-reporting, ceremonial speech, mourning-speech etc; 11. Exercises 1 12. Exercises 2 13. Preparation for presentation of a public speech (student´s choice) 14. Evaluation of the seminar

Learning outcomes
The goal of the discipline is to improve speech production of students, to teach them the right technique of speech, to lead them to correct using of prosodic tools in speeches of different genres.
Student is able to use theoretical knowledge about the technique of speech in practice, he has a significant pronunciation, he uses the prosodic features appropriately to positively influence the listener in the concrete communicative situation.
Prerequisites
knowledge of the field on the level of GCSE exam knowledge of disciplines connected to the central domain of study knowledge of appropriate terminology
