Course content
1. Introduction to Sorbian language. 2. Phonetics, pronunciation and orthography. 3. Thematic text for greetings. 4. Infinitive, past participle, perfect, future. 5. Thematic text for introduction. 6. Declination of masculine and neuter, declination of pronouns. 7. Control and grammatical exercises. 8. Present tense and imperative mode. 9. Expletory text about Lusatia. 10. Declination of feminine and grammar practise. 11. Names of dishes and Sorbian cuisine. 12. Names of seasons, months and weeks. 13. Verb classes, present tense, reflexive verbs. 14. Cardinal numerals and grammatical exercises.

Learning outcomes
Seminar aims to introduce students to the basics of this language. Stress is put on acknowledgment of fundamental base of contemporary language namely Sorbian. Explanation is realised on the basis of comparison with Czech, bigger attention is devoted to the features which does not exist in contemporary Czech. More frequent and simpler features are discussed primarily (e.g. perfect, future) and subsequently features less frequent and different from Czech (present tense, simple preterite). Part of seminar is also listening of dialogues.
Student masters basics of Sorbian grammar well. Acquires basic Sorbian phrases of everyday life, understands listening exercises and can converse in Sorbian language fluently.

knowledge of the field on the level of GCSE exam knowledge of disciplines connected to the central domain of study knowledge of appropriate terminology
