Course content
1. Development of textology. 2. Policies of editor's work. 3. Text sources and their criticism. 4. Authors' definitive text. 5. Problems/Issues of authors' non-definitive text. 6. Types of editions: Critical edition. Reader's edition. Edition of the text with the regard to special reader. 7. Collected publication. Selected publication. 8. Editor's notes. 9. Publishing correspondence, memoirs, and other documents. 10. Specific issues with publishing old Czech literature texts. 11. Problems with determining authorship. 12. Selections and anthologies. 13. Possibilities of textology in the electronic age. 14. Practical exercise with selected text.

Learning outcomes
The aim of seminars is to familiarize students with basic terms of textology, procedures of textological work, various types of editions and practical usage of textological work outputs. Exam is written.
Student gets familiar with editor's issues, gets idea of editor's work on concrete cases. Learns to distinguish types of editions and use ethological apparatus to deeper insight to the structure of the piece.
Prerequisites
knowledge of the field on the level of GCSE exam knowledge of disciplines connected to the central domain of study knowledge of appropriate terminology
