Course content
|
1) Term word, designation. Vocabulary and its parts. 2) Basic terms from the word formation area. Morphological and onomasiological word formation. 3) Word formation manners and processes. Word formation resources. 4) Derivation of nouns within mutational category. 5) Derivation of nouns within transposition and modification category. 6) Adjectival derivation. 7) Adverbial derivation. 8) Verbal derivation. 9) Substantial composition. 10) Adjectival, adverbial and verbal composition. 11) Abbreviation and its place in the system of word formation in Czech language. 12) Creation of other (extensional and synsemantic) word classes. 13) Actual developing tendencies in the Czech morphological system. 14) Final seminar, evaluation of teaching.

Learning outcomes
|
Student gains a set of required knowledge and skills, which can exploit in teaching Czech language on every grade in school. The course includes science of word formation, which is morphology. Student will recognize word formation mode and processes and also morphological resources which are used in Czech language. Student also gains complex view on present day system of word formation in Czech language considering of an actual developing tendencies.
Students know terminology of word formation, orientate in the current Czech word formation system, know word formation manners and processes applied in the Czech language, work with interpretational vocabularies of the Czech language, can apply theoretical knowledge of word formation in their individual speech activity, can apply theoretical knowledge of word formation in the practice of teaching the Czech language.
