Course content
1. Introduction to Polish language. 2. Familiarization with the alphabet of standard Polish language. 3. Oral and nasal vowels. 4. Polish consonants. 5. Consonant clusters and diphthongs. 6. Voice assimilation of consonants and accent. 7. Pronunciation exercises. 8. Basic Polish phrases and text reading. 9. Grammatical gender of nouns and adjectives. 10. Declinational types of nouns. 11. Conjunctional types of verbs. 12. Conversation and situational exercises. 13. Instrumental case of singular nouns and adjectives. 14. Expletory text about Poland.

Learning outcomes
The aim of Polish language education is to teach students read and pronounce correctly. On the base of conversational material course pursues to familiarize students with basic morphological, syntactical and lexical features and draw attention to the features which are different in Czech and could cause trouble to Czech speakers. Parts of lectures are also listening and situational exercises.
Student masters basics of Polish grammar well, acquires basic Polish phrases of everyday life, understands listening exercises and can converse in Polish language fluently.
Prerequisites
knowledge of the field on the level of GCSE exam knowledge of disciplines connected to the central domain of study knowledge of appropriate terminology
