1. Position of Slovak language in the Slavonic language classification. Basic Slovak studies literature. 2. Basic types of same and different features between Czech and Slovak language considering its historical development. 3. Phonic system of Slovak language - comparison with Czech language. 4. Acoustics of fluent speech in Slovak language - comparison with Czech language. 5. Slovak language grammar - comparison with Czech language. 6. Word-formation in Slovak language - general characteristic. 7. Comparison of Czech and Slovak word-forming system. 8. Slovak language vocabulary - general characteristic. 9. Slovak language vocabulary - comparison with Czech language. 10. Slovak language vocabulary - Slovak phraseology, comparison with Czech phraseology. 11. Morphology of Slovak language - general characteristic. 12. Comparison of the Czech and Slovak morphological system. 13. General characteristic of the Slovak syntactic system. 14. Present day Slovak language tendencies.

Learning outcomes
|
The course tries to give basic knowledge of Slovak language. Students learn the phonetic, morphological, lexical, word-forming and syntactic system of present Slovak language. After comparison with Czech language they realize basic types of same and different features between the structural plans of both language systems. For passing the subject students should be able to read or listen to the Slovak text and understand it.
Students handle basic types of similarities and differences between Czech and Slovak languages, orientate in individual structural plans of the Slovak language, can define differences between phonological, morphological, lexical, word formation and syntactic systems of Czech and Slovak languages, read or listen Slovak texts and understand it (without bigger problems).
