Course content
1. Definition of life. Life and death. 2. Bioethics. Eugenics. Thanalology - euthanasia. 3. Origin of life - philosophical and methodological point of view. 4. Evolution vs creation - philosophical and methodological point of view. 5. Human race and racism. 6. Transgenosisi, genetic engineering, gene therapy, GMO - philosophical, ethical, and methodological point of view. 7. Migration of human populations, gene flow, multiculturalism - its concequentions and role in globalization process. 8. Reductionism, vitalism, holism, probabilism, structuralism, functionalism, anthropomorphism, voluntarism, and teleology in biology.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide information on the selected problems of modern biology (for example origin of life, theories on evolution vs creation of biological systems, eugenics, euthanasia, gene engineering and transgenosis, GMO, gene therapy, change of climate, human races, racial theories and racism, global migration, multiculturalism and its consequentions).
