Lectures include following topics: 1. Basic divison of autotrophic microorganisms to the "imperium (domain)" PROKARYA (Prokaryota) and EUCARYA (Eukaryota); aspects of evolution; evolution lines of algae group; denomination of cyanophyta and algae according to International Code of Botanical Nomenclature; basic systematic group of cyanophyta and algae. 2. PROKARYA (characteristic of the imperium/domain): kingdom of Bacteria: division Cyanophyta (cyanobacteria, blue green algae): morphology and division of cells, pigments and assimilation products, coccal and filamentous forms of cyanobacteria; taxonomy of Cyanophyta; occurrence in different type of biotopes, water blooms of cyanobacteria, toxicity of some representatives of this taxonomical group. 3. EUKARYA (characteristic of the imperium/domain): overview of the main taxonomic kingdoms and divisions of algae belonging to this taxonomical group and their general characteristic and features. 4. Divison Euglenophyta, Dinophyta, Chlorarachniophyta: basic characteristic and morphological features of the groups named, their system and taxonomy, main and important representatives of individual taxonomic groups, occurrence in natural biotopes, toxicity of several representatives. 5. Divison Cryptophyta and Heterocontophyta: basic characteristic and morphological features of these groups, their system and taxonomy, main and important representatives of individual taxonomic groups, occurrence in natural biotopes. 6. Divison Glaucophyta and Rhodophyta: basic characteristic and morphological features of these groups, their system and taxonomy, main and important representatives of individual taxonomic groups, occurrence in natural biotopes. 7. Divison Chlorophyta and Charophyta: basic characteristic and morphological features of these groups, their system and taxonomy, main and important representatives of individual taxonomic groups, occurrence in natural biotopes. 8. Ecology of cyanophyta and algae and their importance for indication and assessment of environmental quality.
