Course content
Introduction to the parasitology, syllabus and recommended literature 2. The general parasitology - part I (terminology, definition of parasites, hosts and environment, classification of parasites) 3. The general parasitology - part II (life cycles, immunology, parasites and immunity) 4. Protozoology I (characteristic of protozoans, trypanosomosis, leishmaniosis) 5. Protozoology II (trichomoniasis, giardiosis, amoebiasis, coccidiosis, toxoplasmosis, malaria, balantidiosis) 6. Helminthology I (characteristic of helminths, intestinal trematode) 7. Helminthology II (fasciolosis, dicrocoeliosis, paragonimosis, intestinal cestoid, hymenolepiosis, nematode worms, trichuriosis) 8. Helminthology III (trichinellosis, ascariosis, enterobiosis, tropical filariosis) 9. Arachnoenthomology I (characteristic of parasitic arthropoda and acarid, parasitic insects, lice, kissing bug, dipterous, chigger and flea) 10. Immunology of parasites, experimental immunoparasitology, pathology of diseases (malaria, leishmanniosis and trypanosomosis) 11. Pathology of schistosomiasis, immunopathology of gastrointestinal helminths (trichinelosis, trichuriosis) 12. Immunology against the tropical filariosis, immunology against ectoparasites 13. Specific and nonspecific mechanism of immunology. Discussion and conclusion.

This subject follows the subject General parasitology. Subject is focused on more details about some selected parasites, pathology of most important diseases. Special chapters pay attention to immunology, experimental immunoparasitology of most serious diseases caused by parasites.
