The course will focus on the following topics: " Ornithology as a science " Overview of the bird species in the Czech Republic - ecology, status, changes, abundance trends " Research in ornithology - CZ & world " Birds - indication of changes in the environment " Protection of birds in the Czech Republic " Basic methods of field research, field equipment " Identification of birds in the field

Learning outcomes |
The aim of the course is to introduce students with the system and ecology of the bird species in the Czech Republic, protection of their natural habitat and the preservation of the gene pool. Attention will be paid to terrain part of the exercise, focused on identification of common species and on methods of field ecological and faunistic research.
