Learning outcomes
The course will focus on selected key moments from the history of administration of the medieval and early modern Czech state. The overall framework of consideration must depend on the scope of the entire state unit in which the Czech king ruled (the lands of the Crown of Bohemia from the 14th century), or the state to which the Czech lands belonged (the Habsburg monarchy after 1526). The aim of the individual lectures will not be to convey the basic facts that students have already acquired in the History of Administration course in the bachelor's degree program, but rather to approach selected problem areas, or case studies (microhistorical probes), which will illustrate the broader issue in a comparative framework. At the same time, various research approaches will be presented and, last but not least, the relevant source base. Samples of sources and work with them will be an important part of the course.
The student masters the overall framework of reasoning based on the scope of the entire state unit in which the Czech king ruled (the lands of the Bohemian Crown since the 14th century), or the state to which the Czech lands belonged (the Habsburg monarchy after 1526). The student is able to build on basic factual knowledge by developing it through selected case studies and incorporating it into the relevant framework of administrative issues. He is able to define and apply various research approaches and describe the framework source base for selected thematic areas.
Prerequisites
Good factual knowledge of administrative development until 1848.

Assessment methods and criteria
