Learning outcomes

The main goal of the course is to lead students to the successful completion and defense of their bachelor's thesis. The course aims to provide students with the widest possible level of support for the given task, while at the same time partially controlling and correcting their progress. The course itself is implemented at three specific levels. Within this framework, students' attention will first be focused on the issue of a professional (historical) text, in the course of which the structure and character of individual parts of the bachelor's thesis will be discussed more generally. In addition to the general characteristics, a significant part of the teaching will also be critically focused work with specific materials in the form of various types (and levels) of professional texts and selected examples of already completed qualification works. The next part of the teaching will then be oriented towards direct support for completing the bachelor's thesis. The basis for this stage will be partial individual and joint consultations and discussion blocks, in which students will present the results of their research work and the problems that had to be overcome. They evaluate the work of their colleagues through discussion and thus verify the quality and relevance of the achieved results and the way they are formulated. The last area, which is implemented within the course, focuses exclusively on preparing one's own defense of the qualification thesis, or more generally speaking, a form of presenting the results of professional research activities. Here, the student should obtain a suitable basis for the presentation and high-quality formulation of the overall concept of their research performance, their own methodology of processing and, above all, the significance of the achieved results.
The student masters the way of structuring a bachelor's thesis, knows the theoretical basis for creating a professional text. He is able to present his topic in spoken form. He is able to discuss the issues he deals with in his bachelor's thesis in a factual manner.
