1. The beginnings of diplomatic studies, diplomacy in Bohemia until the end of the 18th century to the present, basic edition. 2. Terminology, the beginnings of diplomatic documents in the territory of the Czech state. 3. Offices of Czech monarchs until 1419. 4. Public notaries. Church diplomacy until the beginning of the 16th century. 5. Provincial and court records in Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. 6. Diplomatic documents of the urban environment until the beginning of the 16th century. 7. Offices of the Bohemian Kings 1419 - 1526. 8. Diplomacy of the Modern Age (16th - 19th centuries) I. 9. Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to deepen basic information about diplomacy as a key auxiliary historical science. The course is divided into blocks that systematically focus on individual areas of research into diplomatic documents.
The student will deepen his knowledge of medieval and modern diplomatic terminology; the development of Czech diplomatic studies; the characteristic features of diplomatic documents of the central offices of the Bohemian state, public notaries, urban noble and church provenance and cadastral documents; diplomatic editions and literature. He will learn to identify diplomatic documents; he will be able to describe and analyze them.

Assessment methods and criteria
|

Orientation in the auxiliary sciences of history, Czech history and the history of administration up to 1848; ability to read Gothic script and Neo-Gothic cursive; mastery of the basics of Latin, ability to translate and understand German texts of a diplomatic nature.
