The history of administration in the lectured scope acquaints the listeners with the organization of public administration in the territory of the Czech state in the time span from the Middle Ages to 1848. The explanation of public administration institutions is associated with information on the preservation and storage of their written production as an important moment not only for the knowledge of their organization and actual functioning, but also for the methodically conducted historical study in general. In the first part of the course, attention is paid to the oldest period (until 1848), where the watershed is the introduction of extensive administrative changes in the mid-19th century. Within the course, the explanation does not only deal with the line of state political administration, although it receives the most space and was of the greatest importance from the point of view of national development, but also with other particular legal areas that had their own administration, whether it is municipal, regional or church administration. The emphasis is placed not only on mastering basic facts, but also on understanding trends, tendencies, and the historical-economic-social background of the indicated development.
The student is able to characterize the essence of the history of administration and its connection with other disciplines. The student has an overview of the basic features of the history of administration in the Czech lands up to 1848. The student is able to characterize the territorial and territorial-administrative development of the Czech lands. He is also able to provide an overview of the development of political, church, municipal and noble administration.
