Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to expound the development of Czechoslovak First Republik archival science, especially the regional one. Czechoslovak archiving of this period is known only through a few dominant themes which attracted the attention of existing researchers (archival separation with Austria, the so-called archival survey, State Archival School). Beyond all interest is regional archiving-municipal, local, estate - for which there is a large amount of hitherto essentially unused source material in the central funds of the first Czechoslovak Republic. The course will introduce these materals, further work with them, and will be associated with asking appropriate questions to these sources.
Students will gain a basic overview of the development of First Republic archiving in Czechoslovakia. They will be familiar with the issues of regional archiving of this period and at the same time they will master the source base which can be used for this study.
